The Hindu, August 1 | Featuring Rajesh Ramakrishnan In an important piece titled “Suicide is Not the Way to Go”, published in The Hindu, psychotherapist and hypnotherapist Rajesh Ramakrishnan shared critical insights on the emotional and psychological roots of high-profile suicides—like that of VG Siddhartha and Angad Paul. Rajesh explained that for many individuals, especially entrepreneurs and public figures, the pain isn't just financial. It's deeply emotional—often tied to a sense of failure, guilt, and the burden of ‘letting down’ others who looked up to them. He emphasized that the fear of losing one’s image or identity as a successful figure can silently eat a person from within. He advocated for early emotional resilience training in schools, stressing that children must be taught how to navigate disappointment and develop inner strength. The belief that “this too shall pass” should become an ingrained mindset. “The sooner this is done, the fewer Siddharthas we will have,” he concluded.
